Laura Fonseca, MT-BC is a Board Certified Music Therapist. She received her B. A. in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music with a minor in psychology. She has completed the Master’s of Music coursework, and currently has a manuscript under review with Colorado State University. Laura is on the Board of Advisors for Step by Step Dyslexia Solutions.

Laura is a multi-instrumentalist with diverse clinical and consultative experience. She has worked with clients of all ages and ability levels across a wide variety of settings including; IEP based education, acute rehab, assisted living, private practice, and music technology. Laura is a strong advocate for the use of music as a clinical tool for all individuals and believes in empowering her clients and families with information to use music as a support. She is a dynamic public speaker, and has given lectures, presentations, and workshops on the topics of: Music Therapy, Multi-cultural Perspectives, CBMT Exam Preparation, Professionalism Tips for New Professionals, and Music Therapy Techniques for specific neurodiverse populations.

As a research-minded clinician, Laura uses current music therapy research to inform her clinical practice and consultative endeavors. She views music not only as a force that unites, but also a catalyst for change.
